Putin Preaching at the Irish G - 8 Summit
I admit that first I wanted this editorial to be dedicated to my thoughts about Róbert Fico, Slovak Prime Minister, who thinks that Slovakia and Slovaks can build a strong state within the European Union. This particular Slovakia which is poorer and more in debts and existentially dependent on the EU funds, which, in turn, Germany pushes into transformation of the strong federal and centralist state. Can two powerful states be a part of one state?
However, when I received an interesting report in the editorial office, which referred to the diplomatic sources about Putin's speech at the G 8 Summit held in June in Northern Ireland, I decided to prefer it to my previous intensions. The online portal published the contents of the report on 12 July 2013 (afinabul.blog.cz / section / ponerology), almost a month later after the Russian president "had told off“the U.S. President and other European leaders. At that time,
I had no idea that the contents of this report was already a kind of " prelude " to the entire political and media havoc around Syria which began in the late summer from Washington , London and Paris . However, if the arguments and quotations of this report are true, well then, Putin’s “sermon” reveals that what the West and the U.S. fact really want. This in turn puts pressure on the Slovak diplomacy and the Slovak Government so that they started to talk openly to the citizens of the Slovak Republic about what position Slovakia wants to adopt within the so-called Common and Security Policy of the European Union ... It seems that everyone does what he wants.
The report refers to the diplomatic sources, stating that the leaders of G - 8 Summit also discussed the issue of the Islamists coming to power in the Arab countries, including Egypt. A diplomatic source stated that during this meeting, Russian President Putin had a long speech in which he said among other things: ”Do you want President Bashar al - Assad to resign? Look at the leaders who you “chose” in the Middle East during what you call “the Arab Spring „. The people refuse these leaders. The revolution against Muhammad Mursím continues in Egypt and anyone who knows the nature of Egyptian society is aware of the fact that it is a deeply rooted secular society of diversified cultures and civilizations with history of modern political activities. They will never accept attempts based on the severity of the case.
Regarding Erdogan (Turkey), so the public arose against him and his star starts fading. The Government of the Muslim Brotherhood - Salafis in Tunisia is no longer stable. And the fate of Tunisia will not be far from a situation where the army will seize the power; because Europe will never accept chaos at the border and Tunisia’s entry into Europe (Putin said it before the Tunisian Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and announced his candidacy for the President of the Republic)."
Putin said: “You have expanded anarchy in Libya, after Muammar al - Gaddafi nobody can put together a government body that would be able to work again and succeed as well. After the resignation of Ali Abdullah Sali, Yemen lacks stability in government and there is no peace on the streets. Restlessness persists in all the regions of the country. As throughout the Persian Gulf, the rest of government power in Bahrain is sitting at the peak of the volcano,” said Putin.
The Russian president also said: “You want Russia to leave Assad and his regime and to go along with the opposition, whose leaders know nothing other than announcing fatwa (the interpretation of Islamic law - editor's note.) in addition, acclaiming people as heretics, and whose members, who come from different countries and have more direction, do not know anything else than how to kill people and eat human flesh. You lie to your own people as it suits your interests. That is not our business. However, it is not permissible to lie to us, to countries and people in the world, because the international politics is not just yours. Your ability to monopolize as you did it two decades ago is now gone for good. "
Putin then continued: “In Syria, you all stand on the side of the forces against which you, according to your statements, have fought over the past 10 years having named it “as combating terror ". Now you are with them and helping them to seize power in the region. You represent that you are their arms and send your soldiers to Syria in order to weaken and disintegrate it."  Putin asked: ' In the name of God, I ask you, what kind of democracy are you talking about? Do you want democratic regime in Syria instead of Assad Regime, but are your allies and Turkey and blessed democracies in the region?"
Putin addressed the following words directly to U.S. President Obama as he said: “Your country sent the Army to Afghanistan in 2001 with an excuse concerning fighting against the Taliban, al Qaeda and other fundamentalist terrorists having been accused by your government of carrying out attacks on 11 September in New York and Washington. Moreover, today you do alliance with them in Syria. You and your allies directly talk about sending them weapons. And there is Qatar, where you have the largest base in the region and Taliban is opening its embassy there."
Putin turned to French President Francois Hollande with the question : ' How can you send your army to the battle against fundamentalists- terrorists in Mali and on the other hand, do an alliance with them and support them in Syria and you want to send them heavy weapons to fight against the regime in Syria? "
David Cameron, British Prime Minister, defended himself against some of the sharpest observations Putin had made, when the Russian president told him: “You speak loudly about arming the terrorists in Syria despite the fact that they are fundamentally the same people who killed two British soldiers in the streets of London during the day, in front of passers-by and they did not care about your country or your local authorities. And also committed a similar crime against French soldiers in the streets of Paris.”
The diplomatic reports reveals that at the summit, the heads of the states were amazed at how German Chancellor Angela Merkel supported every word Putin had said in his speech. She declared that she rejected no other solutions in Syria than peaceful way. She said: “As the military solution will lead Syria and the whole region into the unknown space...”  She strongly opposed the rearmament of the Syrian opposition, because “these weapons will fall into the hands of terrorists who plan to use them to attack cities in the European Union.”  She also indicated that she did not want to see how some of German European partners would be getting involved in the military and political adventures, which would only lead to further deepening of the financial and economic crisis, as Germany is no longer able to serve as the financial and economic help to these countries and help to hide their mistakes.”
So what do you say to this interesting report referring to unnamed diplomatic sources? After the summit, the havoc concerning the use of chemical weapons in Syria slowly began and “necessary” military action against " Assad regime" has been taken into consideration. Putin's preaching fell on deaf ears.
