When will “Euromaidan" come to Brussels?
Economic crisis, collapse of the state, devaluation of the Hryvnia by 30%, fear, ethnic tension and street fights, mass demonstrations of ethnic Russians, soaring crime, the dissolution of Berkut special police units, unsuccessful mobilisation and large desertion of several thousand Ukrainian soldiers, the declaration of independence of the Crimean Autonomous Republic, officially almost 160,000 refugees, economic loss for EU business ...These are the most significant results so far of the so-called “Government of Victory”, coming to power after a coup in Ukraine on 21 February 2014.
This new power however, was not legitimised by any early parliamentary elections by the President of Ukraine or with a crisis agreement in Ukraine, but with an armed, radical, anti-Semitic and nationalist Right Sector of the so-called Euromaidan in Kyiv with the political support of the USA and some leaders of the European Union; namely Germany, France and Poland. In other words, the same European Union, which has so far not condemned the violence and deadly attacks by radical demonstrators on the poorly armed police force or the forcible occupation of state institutions in Western Ukraine. Neither was the beating, humiliation and threats of physical liquidation of those governors, deputies, prosecutors, judges and their family members who did not want to join the “new national revolution " against Yanukovych, Russia, the oligarchs, corruption was condemned. The revolution that was supposed to “turn” Ukraine away from Russia, killed 82 people (including police officers). Nearly 500 police officers and more than 622 demonstrators more precisely “Euromaidan fighters” and members of its National brigade. While these people attacked police cordons mostly at night, threw Molotw cocktails and stones at them, used wooden catapults, iron bars, firearms, firecrackers and skyrockets, many media and politicians in the EU and the U.S. still labeled them as - “peaceful protesters".
Neither the European Union nor the United States minded, when suddenly 80 MPs left the ranks of the the strongest faction in the Ukrainian parliament; the Party of Regions, which had 213 members. The first 42 of them left overnight of 21 and 22 February 2014, after threats and other types of blackmail. It was only two days after the killing of policemen and radicals by unknown snipers, and only a few hours after the Crisis Settlement Agreement in Ukraine was signed.
The political crisis in November 2013 was sparked by the EU when at The Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit, President Yanukovych asked to postpone the initialling of the Association Agreement with Ukraine to a later time, since Ukraine would not economically survive the transition from the Russian style to the free trade zone. An agreement in the interest of “stopping the bloodshed" was brokered, endorsed and signed by the European Union and represented by the foreign ministers of Germany, France and Poland After several days of heavy negotiations it was finally signed by President Yanukovych and three opposition leaders - Vitaly Klitschko (Udar Party), Arseniy Jacenyuk (Motherland Movement) and Oleh Tahnybok (Freedom Movement). It seemed that everything is fine. On the contrary.
During the night from Friday to Saturday, when the ink had not yet been dried on the signed agreement, President Yanukovych suddenly abandoned Kyiv amid fears for his life. Along with him were former Speaker of Parliament, the Attorney General, the Minister of Interior and Minister of Defense. On the morning of Saturday 22, February 2014, the Ukrainian parliament witnessed an unprecedented coup. The new small majority of independent and “oppositional, nationally and revolutionary-minded Members of Parliament" (the number of MPs present, was 235 to 271 from a total of 450) grabs the power in the country and begins to rule. The predominant voice is of Motherland Movement (88 members) and UDAR (36 members). A new Speaker of Parliament - Oleksander Turchynov was chosen, a former director of the Ukrainian Security Service ( SBU - Ukrainian civilian counterintelligence ), a longtime business and political partner to Yulia Tymoshenko. According to WikiLeaks documents, in 2006 he ordered the destruction of documents discrediting the influential Russian businessman Semyon Mogilevych these documents also demonstrated the links between Yulia Tymoshenko with this alleged Russian mafia boss... The Parliament then under the new management selects a new Minister of the Interior and prepares a resolution calling for the resignation of President Yanukovych. Later they vote to release Yulia Tymoshenko from prison in Kharkov (!) and ten minutes later the Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka is removed from his office. Then they break for lunch. The country is in chaos and anarchy. Maidan indicates that Kyiv is under its control. There is a regional congress, organised by the Southern and Eastern regions of Ukraine, held in Kharkiv. It refuses to recognize the legitimacy of the “new power" and declares Kharkiv as the second capital of Ukraine. Soon after that a video recording of President Yanukovych is published. Among other things, he announces that the country had witnessed a coup and that he does not resign, nor will ever give up the post of the President, moreover, he considers every legislation introduced by the new Ukranian Parliament to be illegally adopted, therefore he will not sign any. Then, shortly after 16.00, this statement is followed by a reaction from the Parliament. The Parliament overwhelmingly votes for a law to recall Yanukovych as president ( ! ). Three minutes later they approve to bring the presidential elections forward to 25 May 2014 and a further four minutes later a resolution is announced that “the President resigned from his office out of his own will and that he ceased to fulfill its constitutional duties, he fled from Kiyv and violated human rights on a massive scale" ( ! ). Half an hour later, Yulia Timoshenko leaves Kharkiv prison and travels to Kiyv to greet Euromaidan. Both The United States and the European Union are silent. Only Russia is protesting and warns that it isn not the opposition that is running the country, but armed extremists. Neither the “democratic Western world " nor its media mind that the Ukrainian constitution being flagrantly violated. According to the Constitution (of Ukraine), the president loses his mandate either by death, or if he (she) resigns, or due to investigation initiated against him (her) for illegal activities. Releasing of Yulia Tymoshenko who announced that she would run in the presidential elections, was condemned only by the European People's Party. After her appearance in Kiyv her car was stopped by Euromaidan activists, a black Mercedes, carrying Klitchko, Yatsenyuk and herself. OnlyYatsenyuk gets out of the car and fearfully facing the activists who him not to declare ownership about what has happened. “This is not your revolution, this is our revolution. “Glory to Ukraine " . Shortly afterwards there is protest with nearly 5000 people demonstrating against Timoshenko's return to politics...
It is February 23, 2014. The chaos continues. Euromaidan activists surround the Orthodox Monastery of Kyiv - Pechersk lavra and urge the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to be handed over to the uncanonised Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The next morning, 232 Members of Parliament approves a new law, according to which the Ukrainian language as the only official language in Ukraine! While this law has not yet been signed by Turchynov, an absurd process of de-Rusifacation has been started. It of course provoked a reaction - mass protests of over 8.5 million ethnic Russians who ask for the federalization of Ukraine and a referendum on the future status of the Eastern regions and the Crimean Republic. They do not recognize the new power, they fear the arrival of “the Ukrainian fascists and Benderovs " do not want chaos, violence to be slaves to the EU and NATO. They plead Russia for help and protection, they want to live in peace, to have a job, to receive wages and pensions. Meanwhile, the constitution of 2004 is still valid and Oleksander Turčinov is not only the Speaker of the Parliament, but he is also the Acting President and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine The new government will come and worship Euromaidan which approved it under the condition of being under its control. ( ! ) .
All this is happening so that the European Union could “tear " Ukraine away from Russia. So that at least the political part of the association agreement with Ukraine could be signed. Those functionaries of the European Parliament, the European Commission and the European Union whose mandate is coming to end, could say that the Eastern Partnership project is still alive. But at what cost? For the price of a coup, dividing the country, violations of national sovereignty and the risk of civil or guerrilla warfare? For the price of tolerating resurrecting Nazism, fascism and anti-Semitism? This is what Brussels, Baroness Ashton, Commissioner Füle, president Hollande, Chancellor Merkel, Polish Prime Misnister Tusk, Mr Martin Schulz, José Manuel Barroso, and German and Dutch MEPs wants to call “victory of democracy” and the “decision of the Ukrainian people" to be respected? In my opinion, they should resign and give up parliamentary mandate because they stained and devalued the principles and values on which the European Union is built and stands. They have deceived EU citizens and pretend that everything is okay. How can these politicians and MPs be trusted if they do not respect the agreement signed 21 February 2014 nor do they seek it to be fulfilled ?
According to that agreement, Ukraine was to form a coalition government of national unity within 10 days from the signing of the agreement (until March 3rd). There are no representatives of the three parliamentary parties - the Party of Regions, the Communist Party of Ukraine and Udar in the current government. According to the agreement, the parliament was to approve a constitutional reform that regulates the powers of the president, government and parliament. This reform should have been approved and completed by September 2014. The Presidential elections should have taken place immediately after the ratification of the new Ukrainian constitution, no later than December 2014. The Parliament should introduce a new electoral law and to form a central electoral committee on a proportional basis and in accordance with the rules of the OBSE and the Venice Commission. The state, jointly supervised with the opposition and the Council of Europe are to investigate the acts of violence. Yet we see how the Acting Prime Minister Yatsenyuk goes around the EU, the IMF and the US and begs for loans and donations, calls for the intervention of NATO troops and wants to buy weapons for the decimated Ukrainian army ... He, like Yulia Tymoshenko, does not possess leadership skills and never will become a leader. His movement Motherland (Yulia Tymoshenko bloc) has caused two serious constitutional and political crisis in Ukraine (2007 and 2008), which later moved the Party of Regions and Viktor Yanukovych into power. Let me remind you that on December 4, 2009 during the EU - Ukraine summit, paradoxically, the same Mr Barroso issued them a “certificate”. He conveyed to the then Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko a very critical stance of the EU on her style of governance. He criticized the failure of enforcement of key reforms in particular, the inefficient fight against corruption, the failure to create attractive conditions for the inflow of new investments, the obscure privatization of 32 state enterprises and the lack of progress in bringing Ukraine closer to EU integration ...
